A long time ago |
I grew up in Kearney Nebraska. I graduated from Kearney Catholic. I attended Creighton University where I studied Physics. After Creighton I attended UNL to earn my master's in physics. However I discovered that I enjoyed the teaching aspect more than the research part of my job. I switched careers and studied to get my teacher certification.

Not that far away
|
I started teaching in Ogallalala where I taught for 5 years. I become a lecturer for UNK in the physics department. After two years, budget cuts eliminated my position. My next teaching job was Clay Center. Because it was an hour commute I decided to move to be closer to home and started teaching at Wood River. When my kids started school, I wanted to be in the same town as my kids.

My Home Life |
I live in Grand Island with my wife Teresa (Northwest alum), who teaches at UNK. We have five kids. Our oldest daughter (also Northwest alum) attends UNK. Our three 9 year olds (future Northwest alum class 2028) attend Engleman. Our youngest son (future Northwest alum class 2031) is starting kindergarten.
